Crow

The older and far more serious of the two brothers, he is a powerfully built and rugged stallion. He's much stronger than other stallions his age and size, and he isn't afraid to start a fight or protect his smaller brother. Crow doesn't say much, simply because of his quiet personality, and doesn't have much of a temper. Threaten his friends or brother, however, and you'll see a much fiercer side to him. He's brave but sensible, and is always looking out for his younger brother.

Cardinal

The younger brother with a bright and bold personality, he's constantly seeking his next adventure. He can be a bit reckless, but his courage prevents him from ever backing down. His size stands in the way when it comes to a fight, though. Cardinal's slim build means he's brilliantly fast and agile, much faster than his larger brother. He is very dependent on Crow, and couldn't imagine life without him.

Dusk

A short but sturdy little mare, her cheerful personality is known to be infectious. She faces any problem with a big heart and a brave attitude, despite the fact that she's terrified inside. She's quite nervous actually, especially when around water. Dusk has a huge crush on Cardinal, but he doesn't seem to feel the same way around her.

Lunar

Once captured by humans, she was set free by Crow and has never left his side since. Not only does she feel in debt to him, but she loves him, too. She's only ever admitted this to Dusk, who swore to never tell a soul, and acts completely normal around him. Lunar is a very intelligent mare, and the time she spent with humans has given her heaps of knowledge. She isn't afraid of much and wants to fight along side the other horses, though Crow would never let her.

Romeo

A rather shy young stallion, he’s known Crow and Cardinal since he was a foal and grew up with them. He doesn’t say much at all, but he’s very kind, caring and gentle. He can be nervous and easily startled, and is constantly alert and looking out for danger. Romeo’s usually the first to spot it as he has very keen hearing, despite a badly damaged right ear.

Serralun

Unusually strong for an Akhal Teke, he’s also very wise and sensible. Despite his strength, he only fights if he has to and is quite friendly. He’s interested in starting a herd of his own, but is still looking around for mares. Serralun doesn’t mind wandering alone, though, and he has Harkoss and Galloe to look after, too.

Harkoss

A curious young Akhal Teke stallion, he’s full of energy and loves adventure. He never hesitates to go up and meet other horses, even stallions that are bigger and stronger than him. He’s very fast and agile, and has no trouble running away from danger or running straight into it. Serralun does his best to look out for Harkoss, but isn’t very good at it.

Fury

Beaten, abused and left for dead when she was young, she hates being around other horses. She won’t to hesitate to attack anyone that gets on her nerves and is quite violent. She’s nowhere near friendly and would sooner kill a horse than smile at them. Fury has forgotten how to be kind or happy, and the only horse she feels comfortable around is Heresy.

Heresy

Abused by her tyrant father for many years, she and Fury have a lot in common. She is nicer in comparison, though, but that’s simply because she won’t attack a horse unless she has to. Heresy is quiet and a bit timid, and is almost always at Fury’s side. She’s a fierce fighter and very agile, but it is hard to see behind her often sad and lonely personality.

Metal

Although he rarely says anything, his mysterious aura immediately attracts attention. His past is dark and full of pain and sorrow, and he would never reveal it to anyone. He finds it difficult to trust horses, and prefers to stay away from them in case they ask him about his history. Metal is a surprisingly vicious fighter, but little else is known about him.

Ember

A lively young stallion, he is very charismatic and likes getting his nose into trouble. He’s very curious and leaves no mystery unsolved, to the annoyance of many horses. Ember often bumps into Fury, Heresy and Metal, and they quickly begin to dislike him. He’s fond of Heresy, but the feelings only go one way.

Spark

Often picked on for his lack of height, he is constantly surprising others with his incredible speed and strength. He is a fiercely tempered Welsh Cob, especially when a comment is made about his size, and is known to start fights. Despite this, Spark is very friendly and is always keeping a close eye on Dusty. His courage is boundless and there's nothing that scares him, not even the most fearsome of threats.

Dusty

Always close by Spark’s side, he loves the rain more than anything else and is always getting his buckskin coat dirty. He can be very playful when he’s in the right mood, but usually prefers sleeping somewhere quiet and peaceful. Dusty isn’t keen on getting into fights, but he often gets dragged into them by Spark. He is friendly and rarely upset by anything, and his laid back personality is infectious.

Frost

Beautifully coloured, her black coat and silver tail make her easy to recognise. She’s a fiery young Warlander mare, and won’t run away from a fight or danger. Frost’s powerful and yet agile build makes her an excellent fighter, and she can easily defeat any opponent. She’ll always protect a horse in need, and isn’t sure if she wants to be part of a herd or not.

Soldier

An honest and very gentle Standardbred stallion, nothing ever really startles him. He is very calm and relaxed, and doesn’t mind wandering around on his own. Soldier spends a lot of time thinking rather than talking, but he enjoys company every now and again. The only time his anger ever shows is when a horse is in danger and he is otherwise extremely placid.

Dart

A very trustworthy and honest Australian Stock Horse, once she’s made a friend she will never betray them. Her sight is extremely keen and she can reach incredible speeds at a gallop. Dart loves galloping across open fields more than anything, and would never give up her freedom. She isn’t afraid to fight against either stallions or humans to protect it, and would never join a herd.

Ranger

Quiet but friendly, his Missouri Fox Trotter gait and unusual colouring make him easily stand out. He can be very shy at first and doesn’t like to draw attention to himself, despite his dun coat. Ranger isn’t keen on fighting or running with a herd, but he likes travelling with other horses. He’s a wanderer, and never stays in the same place for very long.

Rupin

Only a young Holsteiner, he’s easily excited and full of endless energy. He is very bold and courageous, which often makes him reckless. Rupin is constantly getting into trouble with humans and older stallions, and loves playing around. He tends to show off a bit around mares but isn’t really looking for a mate or herd.

Rowan

Despite his incredible size, he is very gentle, kind and considerate. He’s always on the look out for danger, and wouldn’t hesitate to risk his life for the herd. Because of Rowan’s massive height and build, he is brilliantly strong but not very fast. He’s also very intelligent, and is a brave fighter. He is close friends with Dream, and treats him like a son. Rowan was once owned by humans, but his owner released him into the wild.

Dream Keeper

A brave and courageous young stallion, he fears nothing and would never back down from a challenge. He’s fast for a Shire, and can easily outrun the other horses in the herd. Dream has always admired Rowan, ever since the huge stallion found him lost and alone. He looks up to him, but is bold enough to occasionally go against his orders. Dream hates humans and seeing horses being ridden, and has almost been captured before.

Winter Storm

With her stunning looks and gentle eyes, she is a beautiful and elegant Shire. Even though she is heavily built, she moves with amazing agility and balance, and is the second fastest horse in the herd. Winter loves the herd more than anything and would rather die than be separated from them. She and Rowan are close friends, but Rowan has a bit of a crush on her.

Vermillion

A young mare with a timid nature, she can be very easily scared. Even the slightest noises often terrify her, and her worst fear is that she will become lost from the herd. Because of this, Vermillion is always at Winter’s side and is never seen without the white mare. Her coat is beautiful, dark shade of red, hence her name, but it makes her easy to recognise and sought after by humans.

Lark

After her parents were captured, she was left to fend for herself in the harsh wilderness. Rowan found her and welcomed her into the herd, and she instantly stuck to both Winter and Vermillion. She loves being in the herd, but she’s very shy and gets scared at night. Lark is very young, but she’s a fast learner and can be brave when she has to be.
